Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

As with every Chipotle I've ever been too, the food is awesome. However, the service here is damn near terrible. There is always a line out the door yet never enough staff and certainly not any staff with any sense of urgency. Other locations I've been to seem to bang it out much faster. Oh well, I've got time otherwise I'd go somewhere else. I've been here probably a dozen time and get the same thing every time: chicken burrito bowl, corn salsa. Yummy! One thing I can say is the good is well seasoned and always fresh. Unlike Qdoba, where sometimes the chicken is old. If they could step up the service here it would be much better!

I love Chipotle. I recently started going to this one because it is close to my apartment. I end up getting there when the line is out the door usually at lunch time. I love the fact that the restaurant buys local and uses humanely raised meats. I am a big fan of that. The food is really good and always fresh. I am also a huge fan of the homemade guac. My favorite meat has to be the grilled chicken since it always taste so good. The staff was very friendly and made my experience there enjoyable.
(4)Katie S.
I usually love Chipotle, this one is okay, but does not stand out as one of the nicer locations. Food was still good, but service was not the best. Nobody seemed happy, or willing to help, and I felt ignored overall. Will try to avoid coming to this location in the future.
(3)Gustav J.
Why I continue to come to this location is beyond me. The previous posters are 100% accurate in saying that the staff and the energy at this location is sub-par. There is absolutely no sense of urgency. I've currently been in line for 10 minutes and there is only one worker on the line, while three employees are in the kitchen... Just chatting. This location gives the brand a bad name- it needs a manager who will do something...and fast.
(1)Nikki W.
No one smiles here?? Could you at least put a fake smile on your face so I can enjoy my lunch??? I really enjoy the food here but the employees are in such a bad mood all the time.
(1)Mary B.
I love their food and the guy behind the counter rocked the lunch line, but I had to wait ten minutes for salad dressing to be made 20 minutes after they opened. This place really needs to organizationally get it together, it's too popular to let stuff like that happen when people are on their lunch breaks!
(3)Jackie W.
I've tried this location 3 times and have the same thing to say about every trip! The employee's seem like they hate their job. They work in slow motion. The portions are small when I get a bowl (only filled half way). They are always out of something (steak, vegetables). Long lines. From now on I will go out of my way and spend my $$ at the Madison Hts. location.
(2)Stephanie W.
This is my first visit here. I had less than a two minute wait in line and the food was great! I would definitely come back again.
(5)Steve N.
I'm a big fan of Chipotle. I love the value equation. Fresh, quick, and inexpensive. However, this certain location is below average. For every one burrito this location makes, the ones in metro Milwaukee make five. None of the employees work with a sense of urgency during dinner time.
(2)Stephanie K.
I'm a sucker for fresh ingredients and Chipotle delivers just that. A straight forward offering of simple, cheap "mexican" fare done well. No frills needed or necessary. Beware Salsaritas, Moes and Baja Fresh - Chipotle whoops all over your mediocre ass.
(4)Sunni C.
I love Chipotle and was a regular where I lived (NV). Many of the locations in NV were very busy, but ran well. My family went in yesterday at approximately 1:30 and the line was fairly long. We waited in line for over 15 minutes! There was no sense of urgency and everyone working dallied at a snails place. This location is not structured and is dirty. I will most definitely not be returning to this location.
(2)m. f.
Great place to wait forever to get a burrito. The food has been ok but so slow and generally not friendly staff... Can't blame them they always seem to be short a couple good employees.
(2)Rosie P.
Ordered a bowel with tofu but there were two gross chunks of chicken in it. I wasn't aware of this until I got home. Additionally, the employees rush you and seem to lose track of people's orders. Maybe they got chicken in the tofu due to rushing everyone through the line?
(1)Calvin B.
Food was mediocre, chicken was dry. Salsa was good though. As for service, service was sub par. Cashier was more attentive than the guy making my food. Place is dirty, if you're going to have an open kitchen make sure it's clean. Shouldn't be any personnel without a hat in the kitchen especially if his hairs longer than the women's. Also you shouldn't be eating in the open kitchen like it's your personal snack shoppe. This is coming from a servesafe certified chef.
(2)Ken B.
I've been to a lot of chipotle's and like the food for what it is but the portions here are smaller than other places. Usually when I get a bowl the bowl is filled to the brim and here it's about 1/2 to 3/4 full. I complained about the portion size and they tell me that it's always been the same and the same everywhere. I've been to many and it's not the same at other chipotle's. Service was slow too even though there were no customers (7 people working back there and nobody would check me out as I stood at the counter waiting to pay until the dude filling the soda fountain with ice came back to ring me out)
(1)Kulsum H.
This is a great Chipotle location. They are fast and efficient. If it's busy I have seen up to five people working to get people served as quickly as possible. Plus one cooking and one at the register. The food is great, fresh and yummy. If you're going to pick a Chipotle in the area to go to, go to this one.
(5)Jennifer R.
Five stars...in the fast food category, that is. But that is the type of restaurant this is, and they do it better than the rest. Delicious! My husband, two kids and I all left excited to return. No need to elaborate on the other posts, but just had to leave a glowing review.
(5)Lisa H.
Chipotle catered our fiesta for 30 women. I picked it up and was astonished how well packaged it was. They included ; food, chafing holders, sterno, utensils, napkins, plates, and even matches to light the sterno. Everyone raved that the food was delicious... could have also been the margarita's talking. However, I would highly recommend Chipotle to cater your next party. They give you absolutely everything to throw a party except for the water that needs to be placed in the bottom of the tin-foil pan and friends. It was extremely reasonable.
(5)Amby M.
The food is decent, not horrible (because are you really going to get into an IF YOU WANT REAL MEXICAN...rant, then why are you at a Chipotle?). No, my rant stems from the customer service. Specifically lack thereof. My husband and I haven't been eating at Chipotle much since the price hike (just not worth it) but every once in a while, the craving hits...so off we went! We've had some less-than-stellar (okay, fine, they were surly) employee interactions here, but tonight really took the cake. My husband is a long-time chef, he can pretty much eyeball and calculate how much meat is on any given sandwich. When the employee "sprinkled" shredded beef on his burrito, my husband politely asked if he could have some more. In the past, this request has been met with a "Oh yeah, no problem!" and reasonable addition. Tonight, it was a flat "NO." As our sandwiches were being wrapped up, the manager came up and told the employee to go start cleaning up (probably because it was near the end of his shift) and my husband asked the manager how many ounces of beef are supposed to be on a burrito. The answer? "Four ounces." My husband, knowing portion control like the back of his hand, knew there had been MAYBE two ounces on his. To his credit, the manager started to get more but...what was my husband going to do with it? The burritos were already wrapped up, was he going to eat it out of a cup? Just...never mind. Our impression is that this location puts their A-players on for lunch (understandable considering the location) and the D-players work the dinner shift...the difference is painfully obvious. The regional manager really needs to take note.
(2)Josiah W.
One of the nicest Chipotles I've had the pleasure to eat at. All the employees were super nice, and they placed a lot more food than I get at other Chipotles. The actual food was just as fresh and tasty as expected. They kept the place pretty clean considering how busy they were at the time. They were able to serve food in a fastidious manner as well. My only complaint is that their pop machine spewed water everywhere when I tried using the water tab. They also needed more seating, but that's not a huge deal to me.
(4)Max F.
Been here one time and that is the last time. Rude service, they didn't have brown rice or chips. I asked how much double meat was, I didn't get an answer (I found out at the end when I was charged for it). When I asked if they had chips, I barely got a nod. The food tasted fine, it's a corporate place, it all tastes the same, but I will not be coming back to this location.
(2)Marty M.
It is what you expect from a Chipotle, usually yummy and sometimes really crowded. On-line orders are the way to go around lunch and dinner time and I've done so about a dozen times, but about one third of the time, they haven't been ready on time, once they gave me a pop while I waited, other times nothing and no acknowledgment that they were late. Sometimes the chips are incredibly salty!
(3)Joe B.
I've been meaning to try Chipotle for awhile now and I finally had the taste for it last night. I had never been before so when we arrived and saw the line from the counter to the front door I was a little annoyed but also hopeful that the food would be extraordinary. After about a 20 minute wait and plenty of time to peruse the simple menu I opted for the Burrito Bowl with Barbacoa beef, white rice, black beans and a slew of other condiments. My lady friend had her regular bowl with carnitas, veggies, etc., etc. We took them back to her place since everyone in line was hungrily eyeballing the food of the diners who were sitting in store. That said the store was clean and tidy if not way too hot temperature wise to make it comfortable to dine-in anyways. So the food, I wasn't a fan of mine. The first thing I tasted was sodium and a lot of it......and it's not that I don't love my salty foods but this was unbalanced. The guacamole was great but again kind of salty. The Barbicoa beef was stewed and shredded and it was spicy and again salty...and overall I just wasn't pleased with my choice for the bowl. On the other hand, my girl's bowl was fantastic! The carnitas was tender and the addition of the brown rice, veggies, salsas and Romaine made her dish far more satisfying from the few bites I had. I'd order hers again for sure. Lastly the service was OK enough, but the staffers behind the glass were really soft spoken so if you're new to the Chipotle experience it was a little confusing since I couldn't hear what the servers were asking me. Prices are fair to moderate. For our two bowls and a small side of chips and guacamole it was $17 and change. I think I should have taken full advantage of the extras to fill my bowl to the max. I'd like to give this place a second shot for sure and maybe check out Panchero's too just to compare a bit.
(3)Robin S.
Hit or miss. The employees are always miserable. Today I stopped in for a quick pick up meal and all three people that assisted me were more worried about what time the could leave then waiting on me. When I get home the three tacos I purchased were all cracked up in several pieces. Chipotle people your food is usually very good but poor employees will ruin your business!
(3)Tarick S.
Can't believe it took me this long to give this pace a chance. I thought it was going to be your typical fast food type of Mexican grill. Instead, it's fresh organic beef, chicken, vegetables, etc.. You eat good and feel healthy afterwards. And it tastes great.
(5)Brittany C.
It's something about this location that my food taste so fresh. I go to a lot of different Chipotles but this location is 1 of my favorites.
(5)Donvaughn H.
Terrible service... Everyone is rude and the place is nasty who wants to eat in filth... I don't understand anyone that wants to eat in such a filthy place.. The manager is extremely rude... This place needs a overhaul even if it is profitable.
(1)Malik F.
Love this location. Great ambience, welcoming atmosphere and family friendly. Hospitality is good as well! Now to the food, the portion sizes are huge so you can definitely share. Fresh everything makes it the ideal Mexican dining cuisine! Love the steak burritos, only suggestion is that they add beef but still 5 stars
(5)Sue J.
I'm not sure why the negative reviews are on here because I got great service. However-- I did order online and the website told me to head to the front of the line to pick up my order when I arrive. This may have helped wait time immensely? When I got there a couple minutes before I requested my order to be ready the clerk gave me a free drink because it wasn't quite ready, but I got my order within probably 3 minutes of arrival. I got the burrito bowl with steak & chicken, white rice, light on the pinto beans, sour cream, lettuce & mild salsa on side. It was fresh and tasty - fantastic. I didn't notice anything being too salty either (which one reviewer mentioned). The only valid complaint from previous reviewers was that the clerk was indeed soft spoken. I didn't hear what she said but it wasn't a big deal. Overall I would highly recommend!
(4)Kenny K.
Always great. Not always as fast as i would like but fresh and great.
(5)Jeff S.
This location now seems to be up to par with other Chipotle locations in terms of speed- food has always been pretty good here.

I grew up in Denver where Chipotle originated and have eaten Chipotle at least once a week since high school so I was excited to find the closest Chipotle to my new place in Michigan. To me, Chipotle's ginormous fatty burritos are a taste of home. (Chipotle geek fact: there is a picture of the original location off Evans Ave in Denver hanging up in every Chipotle store). I was so disappointed and it's sad to see such a great restaurant concept executed so poorly. I have been here on multiple occasions and every time I have come they are just consistently bad. The first time I went they had ran out of chicken and it was going to 20 minutes to get any. I thought that was odd but maybe they had a Greyhound of chicken fiends along with their usual lunch rush so I just gave them the benefit of the doubt. I also excused the burrito maker and cashier's majorly sour attitudes since they were busy. The next time I went they had ran out of food again, only this time it was white rice. RICE?!? That's a default ingredient in ANY Chipotle burrito and I wasn't sure why with the 7 (yes, I counted them) employees standing around, they were running out of anything. There were empoyees running around the restaurant hitting each other with dish rags and generally ignoring customers at best. The cashier acted like it was a big hassle for her to get me a side of salsa, guac and chips and she even let out a sigh. Sorry to bother you with YOUR JOB. I sat down at one of the pop soaked tables that still had remnants of the last patron's burrito and bit in. The portions of sour cream and cheese were definitely NOT Chipotle style and somehow the chicken was undercooked. I have eaten hundreds of Chipotle burritos in my life and the only bad ones I have ever had have one thing in common: they came from THIS Chipotle. They desperately need a shift manager that knows what they are doing. There is no reason to pay 7-8 disinterested employees to stand around when it is not a peak time. They also need someone with some sort of knowledge of kitchen flow to help them so they stop running out of staples. Above all they need someone to train them in customer service. Ok, forget shift manager they need some sort of regional manager who understands how a Chipotle should run (and taste for that matter) that will come clean up shop.
(2)Robert P.
I love all Chipotle locations. Their fresh ingredients and their simple menu are what I like about it. I give it four stars because you have to give up your first born child to get guacamole. The only difference between locations is that some give you a lot of food and some short you. This one gives you a pretty good amount of food. It is always busy.
(4)Justin F.
Gross, cold, soggy, and overpriced. 3 tacos, chips, and drink for $10. I'll take Mexican town any day
(1)Junior P.
This location is closest to where my wife and I live. We both have customer service related jobs, but despite that we're pretty easy going about the service we receive. This location has consistently provided the worst dining experiences we've ever had. Every time we go we leave angry and disgusted, but we eventually give in and go back again because of it's proximity. The workers are beyond rude. They seem genuinely irritated to have to help you. Like another reviewer, I too have experienced the one girl that is always at the register talking on her cell phone while ringing me up. I've seen the usual cook on the line, that's completely open, comment on the steak he just dished up as, I believe, "kind of gross," and then begin to pick pieces out with tongs and throw them over his shoulder! Not even bothering to throw them in the trash. They're always running out of food. No one there has any idea how to run a line. Expect things like having your partially prepared burritos hang out on the counter for minutes while waiting for meat. I actually saw a bandaid/hair clump right at the front door once, next to a mop and bucket that were leaning against the wall, seemingly forgotten. If you are a masochistic, this place should be your next destination.
(1)Jill J.
Horrible experience at this Chipotle location. Line out the door. Super slow. Filthy food prep area. Slow staff. After all that ... Cold food. Hands down the worst location I've been to. I'm usually a huge fan of Chipotle, so I was very disappointed.
(1)Stephen H.
The girl who waited on me today, 2/22 at 3pm came across as impatient. You have to be careful with these neo fresh Mex places as they are sneaky about over charging you. As a result this brat white 20 year old female kept rushing me and asking the same questions repeatedly. She wouldn't give me chance to answer. She wore a shirt that read additives are subtractives. She did the same to the woman behind me. I would fire the brat. Food was actually ok but service is half the delio so they get 2 stars. You might get one more chance, guys.
(2)Robin V.
Wish I could give them zero stars. The employees here are downright rude. I was even yelled at tonight. I can't believe this place is still in business. Okay maybe I can; they make a damn good burrito, but I'll get it ANYWHERE else next time. I hope some of these girls get fired. There are actual deserving people who could get those jobs.
(1)S B.
The food is better than Taco Bell and I hate Taco Bell's food. I ordered a bowl with chicken, carnitas, pinto beans, brown rice, mild "sauce," corn, gauc, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, and a side order of chips. The greatest part of the bowl was the brown rice, lettuce, and the carnitas (and that is not saying a lot). Every other ingredient is either super strong or very mild in flavor. The cheese and sour cream taste more like air than a milk product. The pinto beans were very dry. I think the server let the broth dry out to much. The sour taste is missing out of the sour cream. The chips are always salty and I wish they would leave the salt off of the chips. If the chips are eaten with a bowl then there is no need for the salty chips because the ingredients in the bowl are salty enough. The veggie ingredients seemed fresh, so that I did like aspect of the ingredients. Service was just ok. I said "thank you" to the cashier twice and both times she said nothing - No "thank you," "thank for coming, and no service with a smile. A friend suggested this place years ago and other friends have suggested eating there for an outing. I have only dined at Chipotle 5 times in my life and I believe this will be my last time. I wanted to like this place, but I just cannot find a good reason to like it. If you are looking for something better than Taco Bell, Chipotle is an option. If you are looking for some authentic Mexican food, this ain't the place. Keeping driving and make your way to southwest Detroit.
(2)Sarah B.
Worst chipotle ever! I'm in shock the health dept hasn't shut this place down. Filthy seating area & rude workers. The girl ringing us up was on her IPhone... Acted like we were bugging her. Love this chain , cannot believe how poorly this location is run.
(1)Johnny V.
It's a guilty pleasure... getting a burrito, massive in size, about par with a brick, filled with chicken, rice, black beans, hot sauce, cheese, guac, sour cream and a Corona. Yeah, this place is a chain Mexican Grill but they do it up! I try not to over think whether the ingredients are really as fresh as they taste or if they're corporately modified somehow in a lab to taste that way 2 weeks later, I just dig my burrito every couple months or so. I especially like this place in the summer. It is a very busy location so you find yourself waiting during peak lunch and dinner hours. Advise: If you can have a beer during lunch go for it! And at Chipotle you can.
(3)Jenn A.
I can't believe this was my first time here! Much better than other places of the same genre. We will be back for sure.
(5)Erica H.
Very rude and short staff. I love chipotle but this is the worst I've ever been too. I had to constantly repeat myself because the guy was paying no attention. The woman at the register was just as rude. I will not return to this location. I agree with Sarah this location is truly sub par.
(1)Sarah Z.
Ok, maybe I had a different experience here than everyone else but here's what happened. Normally I LOVE Chipotle, used to eat it at least once a week when I lived in California. This Chipotle was sub par in my opionion. First of all I thought that everything was underportioned (they barely gave me any meat or beans in my salad). Didn't say anything though because I figured that was probably closer to an accurate calorie count. The real rudeness came at the cash register. First of all it took this person about five minutes to walk from the back line to the register, I watched her the whole time. After this she rang me up, I counted out perfect change and put it on the counter, picked up my take out, and got ready to go. She looks at me and goes "um, you can put that in my hand you know, you don't have to leave that on the counter" in a very rude tone. Ok, I paid for my food, you're getting paid to work here, and I left perfect change so you don't have to make any. How about you just pick it up? Not asking for that much. I didn't do it by the way, I literally said "or you can pick it up" and walked out because I wasn't going to be bullied like that. Rude. Pretty sure she shouted something after me too. Will not be coming back anytime soon.
(2)Joy Y.
I don't know why the negative reviews for this location either. I come here several times a month as well as the Southfield location on Evergreen. The service at these two are great especially as busy as they always are. The food at this location is fresh and hot/cold as it should be. The outdoor seating during warm months is a nice touch. The decor is nice and bright and lots of seating inside. The best thing is they are generous with their portions. I'm happy to spend my money here with these qualities. Unlike the stingy Chipotle on Telegraph, South of 12 Mile.
(5)Shane B.
Great place to stop to grab a bite to eat. Parking is somewhat inconvenient during the busy hours but if you are able to get here around the slower times, you'll be all set. Burritos are larger than other burritos mexican places in the area. I recommend a steak burrito here. Friendly employees. Typically a clean dining environment. I really do enjoy eating here. Prepare to be full when you leave.
(4)Krishna P.
Great food and great service as is to be expected of chipotle! This branch is a courteous bunch and prepares the food fast.
(5)Sue H.
I love this place. Everything is fresh and you can make the bowls or burritos exactly the way you want them
(5)Kelly K.
This place is glorious!! The service is always super fast, and my burrito has always been tasty. They've only been out of one thing that I requested once (hot salsa) which was confusing since it's a Mexican joint..buuut it hasn't happened since, so I can't be too mad. I usually order a bean and rice burrito, so nothing crazy, but I always get a hot, yummy sub and service with a smile!
(4)Monica W.
What on earth would inspire someone to give this chain, cattle call, "Mexican Grill" four stars? No ladies and gents the sodium did not get to my head, I really feel that among other fast food chains Chipotle deserves to be better than average. Unless a Chipotle provides horrible service (this location didn't) or skimps you on your portion (my bowl was the size of my head) then you are dealing with your typical experience at this well known fast food joint. What makes Chipotle different is the quality of the food and how they have basically become a powerhouse in supplying naturally raised beef and pork to the masses. Even their chickens are raised without the use of antibiotics. If for whatever reason they are not able to source from the typical farms they will post signs in their restaurants informing you (I seen it!). I rarely ever eat fast food but I will eat here because for one I find it tasty and for two I really am supporting a chain that has food awareness light years beyond the rest. However, just because there might be less chance of an e coli outbreak doesn't mean that I can go bonkers and treat this like it is the best place I've ever been to. The establishment may seem to be a somewhat healthier alternative but their sodium levels are heart wrenching, literally, and although I have been known to put back a burrito bowl or two the portion size is kind of ridiculous. I mean by all means it should probably be considered two meals. I recommend the hard shell steak tacos with hot (red) sauce, cheese, sour cream, and lettuce. Dip that in some guac and you feel confused by the fact that you are in a place contending with the likes of Taco Bell.
(4)Jim A.
Eat here all the time. Chipotle is the benchmark of fast fresh order food. They adopt lean principles
(4)Jon S.
Not bad, not great, just a solid burrito. The staff is always courteous and the food is always fresh. Better than Qdoba. But what restaurant isn't?
(3)Naveen N.
Extremely slow service, don't put much in the burrito. Maybe I'm spoiled from the quality of service at the west Bloomfield site but this place is awful, ill be going to qdoba from now on
(1)Thomas M.
My favorite "fast food" restaurant. I would honestly pick this place over a lot of the so called "authentic" Mexican restaurants around (with the exception of a select few). Great service. Fresh ingredients. Healthy. Awesome minimal interior. Clean! What more could you ask for? And um, it tastes so good... the bowls, the burritos. the guac! yum!
(5)Emily L.
Mmmm, I love Chipotle. Best fast food ever. The ingredients are so fresh and tasty (although sometimes a bit salty). I also really like that the meat is naturally raised and that they try to get sustainable/organic/local vegetables. This Chipotle is really efficient, and the wait is never long, even at lunchtime. The employees are always really nice. Also, they give you the correct amount of food, unlike the Troy location at Crooks and Big Beaver, which always skimps on everything. You can ask for a taste of the salsas if you're not sure if hot is too hot, or whatever. I think medium is just right, but then one time I saw a lady order a barbacoa burrito and then complain that the meat was way too spicy and she couldn't eat a single bite. Uh... I don't really like eating at any Chipotle in general because the metal decor amplifies all sounds, so I usually get my food to go. But if I do eat in, I like the availability of lemon wedges and the variety of hot sauces, even if I don't use them (Tabasco, jalapeno Tabasco, chipotle Tabasco, Cholula, among others).
(5)Dil F.
Fresh ingredients, quick, tasty, healthy, but nothing-special food. These kind of places (fast-food dolled-up as fresh food creations) can PROBABLY never aspire to anything higher than a 3 star rating. For the same amount of money or less, you could be getting a plate full of WOW at almost any restaurant in SW Detroit. That said, this Chipotle does a good job for the genre of food it's making. The menu is minimalist and simple to navigate. You can order tacos or burritos, choose a filling (meat or veggie), then your condiments. The meat is grilled more or less in front of you, and you can choose between chicken, beef, and pulled pork. The fixings are fresh. Three or four varieties of salsa. Their tortilla chips are really quite good, if the comparison is to other fast food joints or store-bought tortilla chips. The set-up of the service is BUILT to be faster than fast. You're in and out in 10 minutes (that includes eating time), and you're full. Super. There's almost never an occasion for me to be up this way, but once in a while in desperate need of fast-food, Chipotle has shined. If you're driving down the strip eyeing a Wendy's or Mickey D's, you'll be much better served here.

These are the best fast food burritos on the market. Fresh and socially conscience with meat. I actually rarely eat meat, so I have vege burritos; however this would be the only burrito place I would consider eating a steak burrito. Service is quick, and it seems clean. Wish there were a few more seats as it can get crowded, but I have never waited for a table.

Let me preface my review by saying a couple of things ... one, we absolutely loved our experience at the Hall Road location. Two, the missing stars for this location are the direct result of the service and not the food. Ok, let's get to the mess that was our visit ... Steve Ells seems like a caring guy ... I mean, he comes across that way on "America's Next Great Restaurant", doesn't he? Here's something I'm certain he'd care about ... customers (Deb and I) waiting almost 10 minutes to have our order taken while watching two customers walk out of the establishment due to the stagnant line. Or how about, when ordering the "featured item" with its ingredients LISTED ON A HUGE POSTER, being told by an employee that "you're gonna hafta tell me everything you want in it". Huh? Is it because your neck would snap if you actually had to turn around to see what's in YOUR featured item? Or maybe it's because you have no clue what goes into the featured item and you have a list of things you'd rather do than learn it. Either way ... ridiculous. The conversation was so awkward I've had to replay it in my mind just to believe it actually happened. Me: "Hi, I'll have the featured item please." Trained Employee: "What you want in it?" Me: "Excuse me?" Guy Who Gets Paid To Know Menu: "What you want in it?" Me: "Uh ... just exactly what's listed on the permanent poster displaying all of the ingredients." Worker Without Ability To Read: "You gonna hafta tell me everything you want in it." It gets even better ... Deb ordered the hot salsa and pointed to it. She was reprimanded by the employee in the form of a "Ma'am do not reach over the glass" order. Reach over the glass? I was standing right there and I assure you, while we think the food is very good ... we were not remotely tempted to reach over the glass guard and finger the salsa. I mean, seriously folks? I kinda wanted to reach over the glass at that point and it had nothing to do with wanting to ensure I got the right salsa. The topper was ordering sour cream and being told "yeah, we're out of it right now". Well we were out of patience at that point ... and now we're fresh out of reasons to ever go back to this location.

Love this Chipotle! My entire office always runs here to grab lunch (we are addicts) They are usually very speedy and get our orders ready properly. We've only had a few minor issues, but you can expect that anywhere the more times you frequent any place you're bound to come across some issues eventually. The employees here are wonderful too. The only thing awkward about this place is the parking. I personally hate parking anywhere near Woodward though, so that is a bias statement.
(5)Mary B.
a favorite lunch stop when i worked in san francisco~happy to see your burritos are served same way here as in sf
(5)Renee C.
Chipotle needs to be on every street corner. So delicious! I always get a Salad with chicken, black beans, veggies and salsas. Perfect meal to stay within my macro goals and get a quick lunch or dinner.
(5)David M.
As good as any other chipotle, but way too slow. Hopefully they can fix that. I've been multiple times, but long or short line the service is very slow. Also, just got my bowl and for some reason they decided it needed more hot sauce than rice, can't get the basic portions right in a burrito bowl. Won't be coming back to this location again

First off, I only have this place one star because I had to otherwise it'd be zero stars. This place is awful..service is terrible and slow. People seemed like they were to good for their job. In that case, get a better job! At the least, pay attention to your customers and stop playing around during a steady rush. Disgraced the Chipolte name today (that was everyone who was on the line through the rush 7/22/15 : 230pm). I waited 6-7 mins for a quesadilla (first I've ever ordered from a Chipolte) and it was a total let down. They had to make me a second one because they forgot about the original one I ordered. How do you do that while I was the only one who had a quesadilla..? And no compensation or apologies for that matter. Will never go back unless staff is turned around. This btw, is my first review of a restaurant so it should show how bad of an experience it was.
(1)Taj K.
This is two stars only because I know this location does not portray the image Chipotle worked so hard to create. I waited in line 23 minutes while only 21 people in front of me were helped. During this time I witnessed 5 people arrive and leave due to the slow moving line. There was not a single clean table in the place and trash was even piled up in front of the door. Twice, the tongs used to gather chips fell on the floor and both times the cashier simply hung them back up. Lastly, I couldn't even fill my water cup because the lever was hanging off the machine. Come on Chipotle, you can do better!
(2)Lindsay B.
Slightly below average Chipotle location. I dislike this parking lot, very awkward off of Woodward and the parking lot is quite tight. Lines are long at nearly all times of day and the line isn't the fastest. I go here only because it is the most convenient location for me. I can tell you that I love the second entrance near the cash register to pick up online ordering. Skip the line! Oops, I might not want to give away my secret. Three stars simply because I love that vegetarian salad bowl with that tasty corn salsa and a honey vinaigrette. And they now have sofritas (tofu) which is darn tasty and spicy on some tacos. Yes, I know guacamole is extra.
(3)Thai C.
Fast. dependable. delicious. what more do you need?!
(4)Neil Y.
This location is hands down better than the Madison Heights store and leagues better than the West Bloomfield store. This should be the training models store because this staff, almost always, knows how to move a line and with accuracy. This is important when you're 40 deep in line and it's only 11:15am. I'm not going to bother to review the menu as I've done that in a previous Chipotle review. However, for a better overall Chipotle experience, come here.
(4)Pete C.
I mirror other's sentiments mentioning lackluster customer service. Cold food, under-cooked chicken; in general food quality suffers especially around dinner time. This location in particular needs a good scrub as it was very dirty every time I used to come in. Very disappointed. I am sorry Chipotle, I have to break up with you. In this case, it's you not me :)
(1)D K.
Food always delicious but only 2 people behind the counter and a line out the door! Really? This location is frequently understaffed for the amount of business they get.
(4)Kari H.
Worst Chipotle EVER! The service at this particular restaurant is so exceedingly slow and I never see any improvement. I have tried to stop at various times and it is always the same. A burrito that takes two minutes or less at any other Chipotle always seems to take five minutes at this one. They are out of rice or meat is still being cooked or the person that is putting the vegetables on the burrito is also the cashier. .... And they rarely have the carnitas. Few of the other Chipotles around seen to suffer from the shortage. Save yourself the time and stress.
(1)Anthony K.
What I love most about chipotle is that they created their menu to cater to the needs of just about every taste bud. I really love how they added a wheat tortilla along with brown rice to compliment exciting addition. The burrito bowls are always delicious and can satisfy anyone! Don't only go for the burrito every time, be couragious and create something delicious that inspires others to try it! Most people have tried Chipotle... If you haven't, I would definitely encourage you to try it! enjoy! *Try the smoked hot sauce!*
(4)Sam M.
The food is good the service is terrible. We Waited in line for a while, when we up for service they are out of chicken steak and lettuce at PEAK lunch hour. Don't waste your time.
(1)B J.
Chipotle has solid burritos but this specific place is pretty bad. The service is incredibly slow for a "fast casual" restaurant and the people just don't seem very friendly. They get rather busy for lunch, but come on...if I'm in your store for 15 minutes just trying to get something to-go, that's unacceptable. I can get in and out of Jimmy John's in under two minutes. Pretty much every worker "on the line" seems pissed off that you're there too, like you're inconveniencing them. I don't know if they're understaffed or what, but this place needs a major overhaul. I also understand that the workers are probably not paid much at all and don't have much incentive to do a great job, but that should fall on management and ownership. They've also run out of ingredients rather frequently when I've gone here. I was told it would be a 15 minute wait for chicken one day during the lunch rush. Really? I had already stood in line for probably 10 minutes. A half hour to get a freaking burrito is ridiculous. This is just a poor operation.
(1)David M.

(5)Will D.

(1)Katie S.
I usually love Chipotle, this one is okay, but does not stand out as one of the nicer locations. Food was still good, but service was not the best. Nobody seemed happy, or willing to help, and I felt ignored overall. Will try to avoid coming to this location in the future.
(3)Steve N.
I'm a big fan of Chipotle. I love the value equation. Fresh, quick, and inexpensive. However, this certain location is below average. For every one burrito this location makes, the ones in metro Milwaukee make five. None of the employees work with a sense of urgency during dinner time.
(2)Nikki W.
(3)Sunni C.

(2)Kulsum H.
This is a great Chipotle location. They are fast and efficient. If it's busy I have seen up to five people working to get people served as quickly as possible. Plus one cooking and one at the register. The food is great, fresh and yummy. If you're going to pick a Chipotle in the area to go to, go to this one.

(5)Marty M.
(3)Lisa H.

(1)Erica H.
Very rude and short staff. I love chipotle but this is the worst I've ever been too. I had to constantly repeat myself because the guy was paying no attention. The woman at the register was just as rude. I will not return to this location. I agree with Sarah this location is truly sub par.
(2)Jill J.
Horrible experience at this Chipotle location. Line out the door. Super slow. Filthy food prep area. Slow staff. After all that ... Cold food. Hands down the worst location I've been to. I'm usually a huge fan of Chipotle, so I was very disappointed.
(5)Sarah Z.

(3)David S.
(5)Debbie H.
(2)Zoey R.
(5)Jennifer R.
Five stars...in the fast food category, that is. But that is the type of restaurant this is, and they do it better than the rest. Delicious! My husband, two kids and I all left excited to return. No need to elaborate on the other posts, but just had to leave a glowing review.
(5)Stephanie K.
(4)Renee C.
Chipotle needs to be on every street corner. So delicious! I always get a Salad with chicken, black beans, veggies and salsas. Perfect meal to stay within my macro goals and get a quick lunch or dinner.
(5)Karen W.
(3)David M.
(1)Akron G.
(4)Gustav J.
(1)Jackie W.
(5)Will D.
(3)Steve N.
I'm a big fan of Chipotle. I love the value equation. Fresh, quick, and inexpensive. However, this certain location is below average. For every one burrito this location makes, the ones in metro Milwaukee make five. None of the employees work with a sense of urgency during dinner time.
(2)Nikki W.
(3)Sunni C.
(2)Pete C.
(1)Ken B.
Service was slow too even though there were no customers (7 people working back there and nobody would check me out as I stood at the counter waiting to pay until the dude filling the soda fountain with ice came back to ring me out)
(2)Joe B.

Can't believe it took me this long to give this pace a chance. I thought it was going to be your typical fast food type of Mexican grill. Instead, it's fresh organic beef, chicken, vegetables, etc.. You eat good and feel healthy afterwards. And it tastes great.

Always great. Not always as fast as i would like but fresh and great.

I'll take Mexican town any day
(1)Erica H.
Very rude and short staff. I love chipotle but this is the worst I've ever been too. I had to constantly repeat myself because the guy was paying no attention. The woman at the register was just as rude. I will not return to this location. I agree with Sarah this location is truly sub par.
(1)David S.

(5)Sarah Z.
